HARLAN COUNTY, Ky. (WYMT) - In June of 2023, Cumberland, Benham and Lynch were selected for the Environmental Protection Agency’s “Closing America’s Wastewater Gap” study.

“The shape that our systems are in now, I think it’s something that’s going to come back and haunt us if we don’t do something about it now,” said Mayor of Benham Danny Quillen.

The study wrapped up in May with the findings being presented to community members at a public meeting on May 14.
