For 50 years, the National Association of Clean Water Agencies (NACWA) has been the nation’s recognized leader in legislative, regulatory and legal advocacy on the full spectrum of clean water issues, as well as a top technical resource for water management, sustainability and ecosystem protection interests.

NACWA represents public wastewater and stormwater agencies of all sizes nationwide. The Association's unique and growing network strengthens the advocacy voice for all member utilities, and ensures they have the tools necessary to provide affordable and sustainable clean water for all.

Our vision is to represent every utility as a NACWA member, helping build a strong and sustainable clean water future.

  • Central Contra Costa Sanitary District Engages Future Pipe Protectors

    Dec 18, 2020
    The Central Contra Costa Sanitary District (Central San) provides wastewater collection and cleaning, recycled water production and distribution, and household hazardous waste collection for nearly 500,000 residents and over 3,000 businesses in central Contra Costa County, California. Central San designed the Pipe Protectors Program to fill a void in wastewater education, as Kindergarten, 1st, and 2nd-grade programming simply didn’t exist. As more and more schools fully transition to the California Next Generation Science Standards, the need for high-quality science and engineering activities that engage all age groups would become critical.
