OLMSTED FALLS, Ohio -- City officials recently announced that the Northeast Ohio Regional Sewer District (NEORSD) has awarded Olmsted Falls an additional $1,090,500 to help with costs of the Ohio Environmental Protection Agency-mandated phase V septic-to-sewer conversion project.
"We were deeply concerned about the high cost burden for property owners to connect to new sanitary sewers, to close old septic systems properly and to tap into new sewers," Mayor Jim Graven said.
"So we pursued funding that would decrease assessments as much as possible from the $12,700 residents were facing," he said.
