(October 30, 2018) – NACWA participated last week in the Fall Workshop of the Connecticut Association of Water Pollution Control Authorities (CAWPCA), which is an association organized to develop, improve and enhance the knowledge and understanding of publicly owned or operated water pollution control and wastewater management entities in the State of Connecticut, and to improve the quality of the services provided to the public.

NACWA General Counsel Amanda Waters provided an update on regional and national legislative and regulatory developments, including issues that have emerged in Region 1 that have potential nationwide ramifications such as the Long Island Sound Enhanced Nutrient Reduction Strategy and the small municipal stormwater permits issued by EPA Region 1 to Massachusetts and New Hampshire.  Ms. Waters also addressed the 2018 Water Resources Development Act, the Farm Bill, EPA’s planned nutrient survey, and the current national blending rulemaking.
