NACWA Utility Members Highlighted on EPA Community Service Webinar

Mar 6, 2018

four(March 6, 2018) – Two NACWA public utility members were featured on the most recent installment of EPA’s Community Service webinar series on March 1. Alexandria Renew Enterprises in Virginia and the Louisville Metropolitan Sewer District in Kentucky both present on the many unique ways using innovative strategies and programs to focus on low-income, high-risk, or capacity-limited communities in order to bring numerous benefits to the utilities themselves and the communities they serve.  A copy of the presentations can be found here

The event was part of a larger series of webinars, cosponsored by EPA, NACWA and the Water Environment Federation, whose goal is to showcase the great community service work being done by clean water agencies, including innovative workforce support and development strategies.  NACWA also has available its Environmental Justice & Community Service Compendium, which is an excellent resource highlighting utility best practices for community service engagement and providing examples of how other utilities can adopt similar practices.
