NACWA Supports Water Workforce Bill
(February 27, 2018) - NACWA delivered a letter to Congress last week in support of S. 2346, a bill to establish an innovative water infrastructure workforce development program. This bipartisan legislation, led by Sen. Cory Booker (D-NJ) and Sen. Shelley Moore Capito (R-WV), would directly address the concerns of many clean water agencies regarding workforce development, an aging workforce, and the need for jobs in many of the communities that clean water agencies serve.
This legislation has been championed by the Water Agencies Leaders Alliance (WALA) -- which includes a number of NACWA utility members -- and NACWA is eager to help champion this issue as part of this year’s developing conversation surrounding infrastructure.
