NACWA Urges Trump Administration to Fully Fund Water Infrastructure

In a March 3 letter, NACWA urged the Trump Administration to fully fund key water infrastructure accounts in its Fiscal Year 2027 (FY27) Budget Request.
Each year, the president sends a Budget Request to Congress, setting a marker for the Congressional Appropriations process which will be underway shortly for FY27. In the letter, NACWA voiced strong support for core programs including the Clean Water State Revolving Fund, the Water Infrastructure Finance and Innovation Act (WIFIA), and various programs to help utilities address key concerns such as emerging contaminants, resilience, and water affordability.
Last year’s Presidential Budget Request proposed gutting these programs, but Congress largely restored their funding levels. A stronger signal of support for these programs from the Administration could help smooth the appropriations process this year. NACWA will be closely engaged in advocating for the highest federal investment levels possible throughout the appropriations process.
