Clean Water Current

Following the announcement by U.S. EPA Administrator Michael Regan during Water Week about the formation of a new EPA Council on PFAS, NACWA is preparing a letter to the Council’s co-chairs – EPA’s Principal Deputy Assistant Administrator for the Office of Water Radhika Fox and EPA Region 1’s Acting Administrator Deb Szaro – highlighting the Association’s priorities and recommendations for federal next steps on addressing PFAS.

One of the Council’s near-term tasks is to release a document within 100 days outlining its priority recommendations, including which actions to elevate from EPA’s existing PFAS Action Plan.

NACWA has been closely tracking the multi-pronged Action Plan and recently developed an updated Clean Water Advocacy Asks “one-pager” in collaboration with WEF. This document aims to provide a status update on important actions EPA is considering that could impact the clean water sector and outline key advocacy asks for the clean water sector on PFAS.
