Clean Water Current

(October 29, 2020) – NACWA is thrilled to unveil its 50^th Anniversary Report, which debuted Oct. 28 during the Association’s Virtual Awards Ceremony.  The event also served as the launch for NACWA’s 50^th Anniversary video and website. 

The Report, which has been under development for over a year, seeks to serve as the definitive record of success of the public clean water sector over the past 50 years.  By looking at the amazing environmental, economic, and social improvements that NACWA members have made in the last five decades for their communities and for the nation, it captures the hard work, dedication and amazing progress our sector has contributed to society as a whole. 

Central to the Report is a series of case studies of specific NACWA utilities that tell individual clean water success stories.  Woven together throughout the Report and also available on the website, these case studies demonstrate the incredible work NACWA members have accomplished. 

And while NACWA is thrilled to share these case studies, we know there are so many more out there – so the website includes an option for other utilities to share their own unique success stories.  We encourage all NACWA members to participate and add their stories to the mix!

The website also hosts NACWA’s 50^th anniversary video, which charts the history of the Association from its founding in 1970 to today and depicts how NACWA has worked tirelessly, through its members, to advance the cause of clean water in the United States. 

NACWA is grateful to all of its members that helped with this 50^th Anniversary project, especially those who submitted case studies. The Association would also like to thank Raftelis for its excellent work in collaborative with NACWA to produce the Report and website.  We look forward to sharing these amazing deliverables with members, the water sector, and other stakeholders!
