Deadline Extended for COVID-19 Economic Impacts Survey – Please Participate!

Sep 16, 2020

(September 16, 2020) – The deadline for an important survey on the economic impacts of COVID-19 to water sector utilities has been extended.

This online survey, which was developed by Raftelis with input from NACWA and the Association of Metropolitan Water Agencies (AMWA), will help develop an up-to-date understanding of the trends and revenue impacts utilities around the country are experiencing related to delinquent customer accounts and lower system usage resulting from the economic fallout of COVID-19.

The questionnaire is open now through September 24 and can be reviewed and completed online by utility executives here. Respondents will gain access to the completed report from Raftelis.

NACWA and AMWA will also be using the report in our ongoing federal advocacy to raise awareness of how public water and wastewater utilities are managing through the COVID-19 crisis and our continued push for water utility and ratepayer relief.

Your responses, which will be aggregated to ensure confidentiality, will be critical to responding to ongoing Congressional inquiries regarding financial impacts to municipal utilities, as well as updating our initial sector estimates now that this crisis has spanned six months and counting. We ask that as many member utilities complete the survey as possible to ensure we have the best data to continue our COVID-19 advocacy on your behalf.

Please reach out to Kristina Surfus regarding NACWA’s ongoing COVID-19 advocacy.
