Board of County Commissioners to recognize Johnson County Wastewater for winning Environmental Achievement Award
At its March 21, 2024 meeting, the Board of County Commissioners and County Manager’s Office will recognize Johnson County Wastewater for winning its first Environmental Achievement Award for Public Information & Education.
The award was given by The National Association of Clean Water Agencies. The Board meeting begins at 9:30 a.m. and the recognition will take place during the Manager’s Memo at the end of the meeting.
This NACWA award recognizes member agencies for their innovative and creative efforts to inform and educate their community and elevate the water sector. Wastewater won the award for its #ForTheW initiative, which is an ongoing recruitment and public education campaign. The campaign was created and executed in-house by Community Relations Manager Melissa Reeves in 2023.
