Newfield receives over $1M for water and sewer infrastructure improvements

The Town of Newfield is set to receive a significant boost in funding for its water and sewer infrastructure, as announced by State Senator Lea Webb’s office on Wednesday.
Specifically, Newfield will receive $929,516 in interest-free loans and an additional $183,969 in grant funding.
These funds are earmarked for enhancing water treatment facilities and upgrading water collection systems, respectively. This recent funding is part of ongoing efforts to upgrade Newfield’s water infrastructure. In April 2022, the town received $184,000 for a wastewater collection project, and during the summer, the Finger Lakes Land Trust acquired 43 acres in Newfield.
