Jefferson County water reclamation facility to see more than $30 million in upgrades

More than $30 million is being invested in the Village Creek Water Reclamation Facility in Jefferson county.
The plant is responsible for sanitizing millions of gallons of sewage water a day for those living in the North Birmingham area.
The plant releases that clean water back into Village Creek and has been in operation for decades.
Jefferson county Environmental Services director David Denard says most of the equipment is now outdated or reaching its end of life.
