The Los Angeles City Council Tuesday will consider adopting an ordinance that would allow the city to move forward with a delivery option for a project that would support a water treatment facility in the San Fernando Valley.

As part of the city’s long-term water management goals of increasing local water supplies and resiliency, L.A. Sanitation and Environment is leading the development of an Advanced Water Purification Facility project.

The project is in the design phase, and would be located at the Donald C. Tillman Water Reclamation Plant in the Sepulveda Basin. The plant receives average daily flows of 55 million gallons per day from approximately 300,000 residents and businesses from the east San Fernando Valley.
