NACWA Hosts Webinar on Class Action Litigation
NACWA hosted a widely attended webinar this week on class action lawsuits and considerations for clean water utilities facing such litigation.
On the webinar, NACWA Legal Affiliates provided important information on the mechanics of class action suits, how class action claims can arise over the course of separate litigation, and key issues for utilities facing such litigation as either potential “class” plaintiffs or as defendants.
NACWA encourages its public utility members to view the presentation and materials from the webinar, particularly those utilities potentially impacted by the proposed PFAS drinking water settlements that are seeking additional information to help inform their decision making.
NACWA thanks the following Legal Affiliates for sharing their expertise on this critical issue with the NACWA membership: Rob Bilott, Taft Stettinius & Hollister LLP; Paul Calamita, AquaLaw PLC; Jeff Kray, Marten Law LLP; Christine Skoczylas, Barnes and Thornburg LLP; James Slaughter, Beveridge & Diamond PC; and Amanda Waters, McGuireWoods LLP.
NACWA will be hosting another, related webinar on October 23 at 2:00 PM ET that will specifically provide information on the proposed PFAS class action settlement. Members interested in registering can do so here.
Please contact NACWA’s General Counsel, Amanda Aspatore, with any questions.
