Don’t Forget – Application Process Open for EPA Water Workforce Grants! Deadline is November 17!

Oct 18, 2023

EPA recently announced a Request for Applications (RFA) for over $20 million in grant funding to support training for workers who protect and treat our nation’s drinking water and provide critical wastewater services.

Through the Innovative Water Infrastructure Workforce Development Grant program, EPA will support training and career opportunities in the water sector.  Eligible organizations interested in applying must submit their application to EPA by November 17, 2023.

This is a critical new grant program that NACWA and others in the water sector worked hard to create and fund, and the Association is thrilled to see it come to fruition.  NACWA encourages members interested in this program to apply.

With the accelerated graying of the water workforce—it is estimated that one third of water workers will be eligible to retire within the next 5-10 years—it is imperative that utilities identify and train the next generation of water professionals. This program will provide a welcome opportunity to assist in that effort.
