Wellington’s water utility is honored to be recognized as a 2021 “Utility of the Future Today” for its exemplary operations. This distinction highlights Wellington’s forward-thinking initiatives, community engagement, watershed stewardship, and recovery of resources such as water, energy and nutrients.

The Utility of the Future Today Recognition Program is a joint initiative led by the Water Environment Federation, the National Association of Clean Water Agencies, the Water Research Foundation, and the WateReuse Association, and is supported by the Environmental Protection Agency Office of Wastewater Management and the Department of Energy Office of Energy Efficiency & Renewable Energy.
