FAIRFIELD — The Fairfield-Suisun Sewer District has again been recognized for outstanding operational and safety performance by multiple industry associations.

Two district staff members have also earned top individual honors.

The district was recently awarded the:

• 2021 National Association of Clean Water Agencies Platinum Peak Performance Award, recognizing public wastewater utilities for outstanding compliance records. The district received the Platinum award for 100% compliance with regulatory permits over five consecutive years.
• Plant Safety Award from the California Water Environment Association. To take the top Plant Safety Award, a plant must meet certain criteria that include a minimal number of injuries and lost-time accidents, recordkeeping, in-house training and emergency response.
