NACWA honors Berkeley County PSSD with awards
MARTINSBURG — The Berkeley County Public Service Sewer District has received three gold and five silver Peak Performance Awards from the National Association of Clean Water Agencies.
The NACWA recognized 462 facilities across the country for excellence in wastewater treatment as measured by compliance with various permits.
The program offers “national recognition for the hard work and commitment to excellence NACWA members put forth every day on behalf of the environment and their communities,” according to the organization.
“Our team for decades has worked diligently to improve Berkeley County’s sewage system, and it’s a good feeling to see a spotlight on a job well done,” PSSD General Manager Curtis Keller said. “We invested millions of dollars in infrastructure, and the result is clean, high-quality water as well as a smart, efficient system. It’s something the people in this county can be proud of.”
