Radhika Fox and Dr. Michal Freedhoff Confirmed to U.S. EPA

Jun 17, 2021

This week, the U.S. Senate voted to confirm the nomination of Radhika Fox to be Assistant Administrator of the U.S. EPA’s Office of Water. At press time, a vote had not yet occurred but is imminent. In advance, NACWA reiterated its strong support for her nomination. The nomination has advanced swiftly through the Senate, where a hearing and Committee vote on her nomination were held in May.

Also this week, the Senate voted to confirm Dr. Michal Freedhoff to be Assistant Administrator of the U.S. EPA’s Office of Chemical Safety and Pollution Prevention. This office implements the Toxic Substances Control Act (TSCA) and will be key in EPA’s efforts to regulate PFAS. NACWA has worked with Dr. Freedhoff in her prior role with the Senate Environment and Public Works Committee, where she led its PFAS work.

For questions on these upcoming EPA nominations, please contact NACWA’s Managing Director of Government Affairs, Kristina Surfus.
