NACWA Holds First Board Meeting of 2021, Welcomes Two New Members
(February 4, 2021) – NACWA convened its first Board of Directors meeting of 2021 on February 3.
Led by NACWA President Terry Leeds, the Board took a number of actions including appointing two new Board members: Mike Witt, General Counsel of the Passaic Valley Sewerage Commission in Newark, New Jersey, and Eileen White, Director of Wastewater at the East Bay Municipal Utility District in Oakland, California. NACWA welcomes both to the Board.
The Board also approved a partnership between NACWA and Core Consulting to provide leadership training opportunities for interested NACWA member utilities. More information on this program will be provided to the membership soon and NACWA is excited about this new offering.
Other issues discussed by the Board included the rollout of the joint NACWA/AMWA Affordable Water, Resilient CommunitiesTM campaign, efforts to facilitate the distribution of the $638 million for a Low-Income Water Customer Assistance Program appropriated by Congress at the end of last year, and lessons learned from some recent cyberattacks that have impacted NACWA member utilities.
The next Board of Directors meeting will be in April.
