Radhika Fox Named Senior Leader in EPA’s Office of Water

Jan 27, 2021

(January 27, 2021) – NACWA was thrilled to congratulate Radhika Fox last week on her appointment as Principal Deputy Assistant Administrator for EPA’s Office of Water.  Fox will serve as the office’s senior political leader until an Assistant Administrator is nominated by the Biden Administration and confirmed by the Senate.

Fox brings significant experience with, and passion for, water issues to the position at a time when there are many water-related challenges facing the nation. Her past work on water issues includes serving as Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the US Water Alliance – which NACWA formed in 2007 and whose influence and reach has grown under Fox’s leadership.

Radhika’s public service also includes work as a policy analyst with NACWA member agency the San Francisco Public Utilities Commission (SFPUC), giving her a significant understanding of the challenges of regulated, public water/wastewater treatment agencies.

“Having previously worked for a clean water agency and the Alliance, Radhika is uniquely positioned to understand the challenges facing water utilities right now,” said Adam Krantz, CEO of NACWA, in a press release. “The COVID-19 pandemic has also underscored the significant economic and affordability challenges facing local communities, the importance of sound policies to provide water access for all, and the clear need for greater investment in clean water from all levels of government but particularly the federal government.  Radhika will arrive at EPA on day one with an understanding of all these challenges and with a solutions-oriented approach that will inspire action to address these many challenges.”

NACWA looks forward to working with Fox in her new capacity to help advance the interests of the nation’s public clean water utilities.
