Jun 17, 2020
(June 17, 2020) – NACWA congratulates its members from across the country who applied for and received funding through EPA’s Water Infrastructure Finance and Innovation Act (WIFIA). WIFIA is a federal loan and guarantee program at EPA that aims to accelerate investment in the nation’s water infrastructure by providing long-term, low-cost supplemental loans for regionally and nationally significant projects. WIFIA credit assistance can be used for a wide range of projects.
- Seattle Public Utilities for $192 million
- Chino Inland Empire Utilities Agency for $196.4 million
- City of Wichita for $280 million
- Miami-Dade for $326 million
NACWA is a strong supporter of WIFIA and helped to ensure clean water, reuse, and resource recovery projects would be eligible under the program. This round of recipients builds on a strong record of members who have had projects funded in previous rounds.
