It is clear that the health care workers, emergency medical technicians, police officers and firefighters who are on the front lines fighting the COVID-19 pandemic deserve our support, prayers and unwavering thanks for the commitment and dedication that they demonstrate every day. These professionals risk exposure to this deadly virus in order to help the infected and protect the public health of our community.

There currently is no cure, no vaccine, no treatment for those infected with COVID-19. The medical community can only manage symptoms, isolate patients to reduce transmission, and maintain critical life support as the body goes through its normal process of fighting viral infection. What we do know is that the best method to control the spread of disease is to socially distance and maintain personal hygiene, specifically frequent and thorough hand washing.
