NSWRD Honored With Prestigious NACWA Awards

The North Shore Water Reclamation District (NSWRD) was recently recognized by the National Association of Clean Water Agencies (NACWA) with three prestigious Peak Performance Awards. The Waukegan Water Reclamation Facility received a 2019 Gold Award; the Clavey Road Water Reclamation Facility in Highland Park and the Gurnee Water Reclamation Facility each received 2019 Silver Awards.
These prestigious honors presented by NACWA acknowledge member agency facilities for consistent permit compliance during the calendar year, recognizing them for excellence in wastewater treatment. "The national awards for excellence in performance are much deserved recognition of the dedicated performance of our District's staff," stated Daniel Pierce, President of the District. NACWA, headquartered in Washington, D.C., is the nation's recognized leader in legislative, regulatory, and legal advocacy on the full spectrum of clean water issues, as well as a top technical resource for water management, sustainability and ecosystem protection interests.
