The Public Works Committee today unanimously recommended for approval a resolution to adopt a Green Infrastructure Plan for the City of Milwaukee. If adopted by the full Common Council the Department of Public Works, beginning in 2020, is authorized to use up to $200,000 per year from the City’s Green Solutions funding allocation from the Milwaukee Metropolitan Sewerage District (MMSD) to implement the plan.

Common Council File #190342, sponsored by Alderman Cavalier Johnson and cosponsored by Alderman Nik Kovac, Alderman Robert J. Bauman (Public Works Committee chair), Alderman Michael J. Murphy, and Alderman Mark A. Borkowski, officially adopts the Plan which, at the Council’s direction, was developed by the City’s Environmental Collaboration Office in cooperation with various other City departments and community partners.
