NACWA Participates in Massachusetts Utility Meeting to Emphasize Clean Water Advocacy

May 21, 2019

(May 21, 2019) – NACWA participated in the Massachusetts Coalition for Water Resources Stewardship’s (MCWRS’s) 10th Annual Water Resources Strategies Symposium last week in Marlborough, MA as part of a panel to discuss the importance of clean water advocacy.

NACWA staff empahsized the importance of relationship-building and targeted messaging with Members of Congress for effective advocacy at the national level, as well as the essential role that Association members play in successfully advocating for key priorities in the local arena. Highlighted in particular were the effective roles that NACWA members played last year in successfully advocating for, and achieving, the passage of Integrated Planning legislation, as well as several key provisions in the 2018 Farm Bill.

NACWA thanks MCWRS for the opportunity to participate, and for its continued collaboration with the Association on issues that are important to the clean water sector. NACWA is always happy to participate in state and/or regional clean water meetings – if you would like to invite NACWA to your event, please contact Kelly Brocato, NACWA Senior Director of Membership.
