NY lawmakers to look at funding for environmental protection
ALBANY, N.Y. (WIVB) - State lawmakers are set to meet this week to work on environmental protection.
Assembly and Senate members will meet Wednesday to examine funding for land conservation, wildlife management and efforts to clean up pollution.
This year, Gov. Andrew Cuomo is proposing hundreds of millions of dollars for safe drinking water and wastewater infrastructure.
Money will also go toward state parks and historic sites, as well as a statewide ban on plastic shopping bags intended to reduce plastic pollution.
Another hearing is set for Thursday. Lawmakers will review social service spending.
