NACWA Takes Part in Infrastructure Working Group
(December 5, 2017) – NACWA participated in the most recent Infrastructure Working Group discussion on December 1, which was led by the Associated General Contractors (AGC) and the National Association of Manufacturers (NAM).
This month’s roundtable discussion featured members of the Administration at the Department of Transportation (DOT) and provided NACWA the opportunity to discuss the importance that tax-exempt municipal bonds and advance refunding play in the building of our nation’s water infrastructure. While NACWA and members of the working group were successful in maintaining the tax-exempt status of municipal bonds in current tax reform legislation, NACWA will continue to strongly advocate for a final bill that maintains the advance refunding of bonds.
NACWA is pleased to be part of this collaborative working group, which brings together a diverse range of infrastructure voices to advance and advocate for continued investment in water infrastructure.
