Hill, EPA Veteran Tapped to Lead EPA Enforcement Office
The White House announced May 12 that it has nominated Susan Bodine as Assistant Administrator for EPA’s Office of Enforcement and Compliance Assurance (OECA). Bodine currently serves as Chief Counsel for the Senate Committee on Environment and Public Works, and has Capitol Hill experience as staff director and counsel for the Subcommittee on Water Resources and Environment of the House Committee on Transportation and Infrastructure. She served in the George W. Bush Administration as Assistant Administrator of EPA’s Office of Solid Waste and Emergency Response, and has also worked in the private sector as a partner with NACWA Legal Affiliate, Barnes & Thornburg.
Bodine has helped advance efforts to provide municipal clean water utilities with more flexibility in meeting their Clean Water Act obligations, especially through an integrated planning approach. NACWA congratulates Susan on her much-deserved nomination and looks forward to working with her in her new position, pending Senate confirmation.
