House Committee Sets Integrated Planning and Affordability Hearing
The House Transportation & Infrastructure Committee plans to hold an oversight hearing May 18 on water affordability and integrated planning issues. The Committee will hear from local governmental leaders regarding their experiences and consider ideas, including those contained in the various bills moving on Capitol Hill (see story above), and how the Federal Government might respond. NACWA is preparing written testimony and the Association is encouraged by the significant attention these issues are receiving early in the 115th Congress.
NACWA appreciates the hard work and dedication of these legislators as they seek to improve our nation’s critical clean water infrastructure and protect public health and the environment. NACWA will be advocating for these and other clean water proposals in the coming months as Congress begins work on an infrastructure package. Contact Kristina Surfus, NACWA Legislative Affairs Director, to discuss these or other legislative proposals.
