Conference of Mayors: ‘Don’t Mess with our Tax-Exempt Bonds’
NACWA staff attended a meeting of the “Don’t Mess with Our Bonds” Coalition hosted by the U.S. Conference of Mayors on February 23. The Coalition consists of a wide range of infrastructure and local and state governmental associations that are concerned about preserving the tax-exempt status of municipal bonds and maintaining access to low-cost financing for state and local investments. With tax reform discussions underway in Congress and the Administration, NACWA is working to communicate the importance of this tool for clean water. The Association urges all Members to visit our Tax-Exempt Municipal Bond Advocacy Page and see how you can help drive home this important message to policymakers. If you have any questions or concerns, contact Kristina Surfus, NACWA Legislative Affairs Manager.
