EPA Accepting Letters of Interest for Next Round of WIFIA Funding

EPA has begun accepting letters of interest for the next round of funding under the Water Infrastructure Finance and Innovation Act (WIFIA) program. The Agency has enough funding for this round to support up to $5.5 billion in WIFIA loans and is particularly interested in projects that will address the following:
- Increasing investment in economically stressed communities.
- Making rapid progress on lead service line replacement.
- Addressing PFAS and emerging contaminants.
- Supporting one water innovation and resilience.
EPA has also announced that, to make WIFIA funding more adaptive to ongoing community needs, the Agency does not have a specific deadline for the letters of interest but is accepting them on a rolling basis until all funds are expended.
