NACWA’s Small & Mid-Size Utility Workgroup Talks Integrated Planning
(October 9, 2019) – NACWA’s Small & Mid-Size Utility Workgroup met via conference call last week for a case study presentation from Association member the City of Lakewood, Ohio on its efforts to utilize integrated planning to meet Clean Water Act obligations.
Lakewood Mayor Mike Summers and Lou McMahon, Partner with NACWA Legal Affiliate McMahon DeGulis, discussed the challenges and opportunities they have encountered in implementing this strategy. Additionally, NACWA staff provided a national update on efforts to fund and fill the newly created Office of Municipal Ombudsman that was created by the integrated planning legislation signed into law earlier this year.
