NACWA Shares Perspective on Integrated Planning

Apr 10, 2018

four(April 10, 2018) - Jim Pletl, Chair of NACWA’s Water Quality Committee and Director of Water Quality for the Hampton Roads Sanitation District in Virginia Beach, VA, and Chris Hornback, NACWA Deputy Chief Executive Officer, provided NACWA’s perspective on “integrated planning” during an April 5 webinar entitled, Integrated Planning: A Solution for Your Utility?, which was hosted by the Water Environment Federation (WEF).

NACWA, along with the other webinar speakers, which included key EPA staff, discussed progress that has been made on integrated planning since EPA’s framework was released in 2012, and areas where more can be done to increase the use of integrated planning. NACWA outlined some of its ongoing efforts to codify integrated planning, seek longer Clean Water Act permit terms to better match the long-term horizon of an integrated plan, and debunking some of the ‘myths of integrated planning’ that can confuse utilities and regulators alike.

Presentations from the webinar are available on the WEF website
