LIHWAP payments: Application to receive up to $2,500 for water bills closes in Pennsylvania in six days

Eligible residents in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, who need assistance with their water bills for the summer of 2024 must submit their applications in six days. Applicants must have received a notice that their water service will be shut off within the next 60 days.
In an effort to provide access to clean drinking and wastewater services, the Low-Income Household Water Assistance Program opened applications to Pennsylvanians on July 10, and applications will close on Aug. 11.
The temporary program, created by the American Rescue Plan Act, offers Philadelphia Water Department customers up to $2,500 toward past-due water bills.
