(Scottsdale, AZ) – The winners of the 2022 National Environmental Achievement Awards (NEAA) were honored last night at the National Association of Clean Water Agencies’ (NACWA) Winter Conference, held at The Scottsdale Plaza Resort in Arizona. The NEAA Program recognizes individuals and NACWA member public clean water utilities that have made outstanding contributions to environmental protection, their communities, ratepayers, and the water sector. The Awards are presented to category winners for Distinguished Service, Environment, Local Public Service, Operations & Environmental Performance, Public Information & Education, Public Service, Research & Technology, Special Recognition, Utility Leadership, Watershed Collaboration, and Workforce Development.
NACWA is the only organization to offer national awards of this type to the municipal clean water sector.
Adam Krantz, Chief Executive Office of NACWA, issued the following statement:
“Despite the many challenges and setbacks that we faced as a nation and a global community over the last two years, these NACWA member public utilities have been able to deliver consistent and reliable clean water services. The herculean efforts by the staff and leadership of the over 300 utilities that comprise NACWA’s membership cannot be overstated, particularly their work as front line environmental first responders. America’s public clean water utilities held steadfast in their commitment to serve and inspire their communities throughout the course of the pandemic.
“To that end, it is my great honor to recognize this year’s National Environmental Achievement Award winners. Collectively, they represent the forward-thinking and civic-minded environmental stewardship that is the hallmark of today’s public water sector utilities. Congratulations!”
