Welcome to the City of Destiny! The birthplace of NBA player Isaiah Thomas and renowned glass artist Dave Chihuly, and the filming place of 10 Things I Hate About You. See below for some of the attractions Tacoma has to offer.

Chihuly Bridge of Glass

This pedestrian bridge is like no other! The walkway that connects the Thea Foss Waterway and the Museum of Glass consists of a ceiling filled with glass art. There's a glass art collection along the side of the walkway as well.

Glassblowing Studios

If you haven’t noticed by now, glass art is a big deal in Tacoma. See what all the hype is about and visit a glassblowing studio nearby! Two of the popular studios are Tacoma Glassblowing Studio and Area 253. They both offer classes and workshops.

Golf Courses

Are you looking to practice your swing and play a few rounds of golf? Tacoma has plenty of golf courses to choose from. Some of the golf courses in the Tacoma area are Lake Spanaway Golf Course, Meadow Park Golf Course, and North Shore Golf Course.

Hotel  Murano

Our host hotel for the Pretreatment Workshop & Training has its own art collection! Every guestroom floor has an amazing international glass sculpture, background history on the artists, and a look at the process of creating the sculpture. Docent led tours are available for $5/person – if you're interested please call (253) 591-4141 to schedule a tour.

LeMay – America's Car Museum

This one's for you, automotive enthusiasts! Enjoy 165,000 sq. ft. of cars, cars, and more cars. This museum has been named one of the 10 best automotive museums worldwide by MSN. Some of the current exhibits are British Invasion, Legends of Motorsport: the NASCAR Story, and Route 66: Dream of the Mother Road.

Museum of Glass

The Museum of Glass in Tacoma is the largest museum glass studio on the west coast. This museum doesn’t just house beautiful art pieces – it also hosts live glassmaking sessions and glassmaking classes. Please keep in mind the museum is closed on Mondays and Tuesdays.

Point Defiance Park

Point Defiance Park is the place to satisfy your urge to explore. Some of the attractions in the park include the Point Defiance Zoo & Aquarium and the W.W. Seymour Botanical Conservatory. The park is also filled with many breath-taking gardens – Japanese Garden, Rhododendron Garden, and the Rose garden just to name a few.

Tacoma Art Museum

This museum has a collection of over 5,000 art pieces, which includes the largest collection of studio art jewelry by Northwest artists, a fine collection of Japanese woodblock prints, the largest retrospective museum collection of glass art by Dale Chihuly, and much more.
