Pennsylvania infrastructure passed, but barely. A report card released Wednesday by the American Society of Civil Engineers gave the state's infrastructure an average grade of C-, citing the commonwealth's aging and deteriorating water and sewage systems as the biggest problem areas.

Across 18 categories, including rail, transit, aviation, and water management, the report gave the state a grade below C- a third of the time and above C+ in just three areas.

The state got the same grade the last time the report card was issued in 2014, but Society of Civil Engineers identified different problem areas at the time: bridges and roads. The state's roads have been bumped up from a D- to a D+, while the bridges have held steady at a D+.
