(February 20, 2018) – NACWA encourages all members to register for EPA’s upcoming webinar on Community Service Programs at Water and Wastewater Utilities, scheduled for March 1 from 1:00 to 2:30 PM ET.  The webinar will explore how utilities are using innovative strategies and programs to focus on low-income, high-risk, or capacity-limited communities in order to bring numerous benefits to the utilities themselves and the communities they serve.

The webinar will feature presentations from two NACWA member agencies: Alexandria Renew Enterprises in Virginia and the Louisville Metropolitan Sewer District in Kentucky.  The event is part of a larger series whose goal is to showcase the great community service work being done by clean water agencies, including innovative workforce support and development strategies.

The two utilities to be featured on the March 1 webinar were also part of NACWA’s recent Environmental Justice & Community Service Compendium, which highlights utility best practices for community service engagement.
