NACWA's Small & Medium Utilities Group Focuses on New Technologies

Jan 31, 2018

eleven(January 31, 2018) - The Small & Medium Utility Workgroup had its first call of the New Year on Jan. 25. Composed of utility executives from NACWA small and mid-size Public Agency members, this group was formed to provide input on how the Association can increase the value of membership for current small and medium-size utilities.

Additionally, the Group has been charged with strategizing on how the Association can engage small and mid-sized agencies in advocacy initiatives; attract new public agency members of this size; and enhance the Association’s resources and opportunities for peer-to-peer sharing.

To that end, the focus of the Group’s call was to consider and provide feedback on a potential opportunity for small and mid-size utilities as it relates to the sharing of new technologies. The Workgroup effectively identified the specific needs of small and mid-size utilities around the concept of sharing technology, and also had thoughts on the value and merits of such a program.

The concept is still under development, and the Workgroup’s feedback will be instrumental in further exploring the value of this potential opportunity. Small or Mid-size utilities interested in learning more, or joining this Workgroup, should contact Kelly Brocato, NACWA’s Director of Membership.
