NACWA to Support Clean Water Advocacy During ‘Infrastructure Week’

elevenNACWA will join a broad coalition of organizations to support Infrastructure Week, May 15 – 19.  While the coalition will generally promote responsible infrastructure policy and investment, NACWA and other water sector organizations will advocate specifically for continued government partnership for, and investment in, clean water infrastructure, including traditional wastewater and stormwater projects as well as “Utility of the Future” innovative technology and resource recovery projects.

Infrastructure Week is a national week of education and advocacy that brings together American businesses, workers, elected leaders, and everyday citizens around one message: It’s #TimeToBuild. Leaders and citizens around America will highlight the increasingly concerning state of our nation’s infrastructure—including water and sewer systems—and encourage policymakers to invest in the projects, technologies, and policies necessary to make America competitive, prosperous, and safe.

During Infrastructure Week, organizations and individuals – from trade associations and local chambers of commerce to mayors and individual citizens – will host events, tour new and innovative projects, talk about infrastructure in national, local and social media, and show policymakers at all levels of government the breadth and diversity of support for long-term, sustainable infrastructure funding and finance.

We encourage everyone to participate in Infrastructure Week and tell your infrastructure story.  More details can be found at the Infrastructure Week website.
