Clean Water Current

Join NACWA staff on September 16 from 1:00-2:30 PM ET for a virtual tour via webinar of wetransformwater.org, NACWA’s new member resource designed to help public clean water utilities strengthen communication with customers, policymakers, the media, and other key stakeholders. 

Launched in July, wetransformwater.org is the most comprehensive set of tools and guidance ever assembled to help public clean water utilities grow their communications outreach and provide common communications resources for the entire clean water sector. Organized around the theme “We Transform Water, Water Transforms Lives,” resources on the site are designed to assist members with messaging, stakeholder management, and risk and crisis communication, as well as communications tracking and measurement. The materials and resources are customizable and designed to be tailored to the unique needs of individual utilities regardless of utility size or current communications capabilities. The webinar will explore the site’s comprehensive suite of communications tools and resources, highlight how they can support your utility’s communications efforts, and provide step-by-step guidance for customizing the materials to meet your utility’s unique needs. Register for the webinar here. Separately, NACWA is hosting a virtual workshop on September 23 from 1:00-4:30 PM ET that will focus on the critical role that water and wastewater utilities must play during data center planning, construction, and operation.  

“Navigating Partnerships with Data Centers: Strategies Every Utility Leader Needs” will focus on ensuring clean water utility leaders have a seat at the table and on pinpointing the needs that utilities may have that data centers may be able and willing to invest in. 

The workshop will also highlight a recent NACWA report that includes some of the negotiating strategies and how to navigate complex discussions with developers, local government and state officials, community leaders, and economic development stakeholders. Register here!
