NACWA Participates in Governance Research Project

Jun 12, 2018

four(June 12, 2018) – NACWA participated in a coordinating meeting last week on a research project to provide water utilities with additional resources around utility governance issues.  The project, being run by the Water Research Foundation (WRF) and jointly funded by WRF, the American Water Works Association (AWWA) and NACWA, seeks to develop a resource guide to aid utilities in evaluating potential utility partnerships, white papers exploring business case evaluations, legal structures, and state policies around partnerships, and suggestions for additional research in the utility governance space.

NACWA’s participation in the project will ensure that the clean water perspective is included in the final work product.  Completion of the project is anticipated in Fall 2018, and NACWA thanks WRF and AWWA for the opportunity to participate in this import effort.  Members with any questions can contact Nathan Gardner-Andrews, NACWA’s Chief Advocacy Officer.
