NACWA Co-Sponsoring Workshop on National Flood Risk Resiliency

May 1, 2018

seven(May 1, 2018) - Building upon far-reaching discussions at NACWA's 2018 Winter Conference that were centered around how utilities are addressing resiliency and disaster recovery, the Association is co-sponsoring a one-day workshop on National Flood Risk Resiliency.

NACWA is partnering with the National Association of Flood & Stormwater Management Agencies (NAFSMA) on this special event, which will further highlight the important need for municipal water sector leaders to engage in, and collaborate with, the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) and other stakeholders before natural disasters strike.

This workshop will feature presentations from FEMA, followed by facilitated roundtable discussions with utilities. These conversations will provide valuable opportunities for NACWA and NAFSMA members to engage directly with FEMA on how the federal government can work better and more efficiently with local utilities regarding disaster response issues.

The event will be held at the Menger Hotel in downtown San Antonio, TX on Thursday, May 31. NAFSMA has secured hotel rooms at a special rate of $124.00 per night plus taxes. Hotel reservations can be made online or by calling (210) 758-2717. If you are interested in attending this event, please register for the event here.
