Water Reuse Workgroup Strategizes on Reuse Financing

May 2, 2017

sixNACWA’s Water Reuse Workgroup held a call April 25 to examine current legislation affecting reuse funding and financing.  After brief introductions from Emily Remmel, NACWA’s Director of Regulatory Affairs and Water Reuse Committee liaison, the conversation turned to legislative business, with Jayne Strommer, Water Reuse Chair, giving a quick update on relevant legislation. This primarily involved the Water Infrastructure Improvements for the Nation Act (WIIN), passed late last year, which provides funding for important Bureau of Reclamation programs that support water reuse.  Participants also plotted a course for the Workgroup’s future activities.

NACWA looks to continue engaging with workgroup members on a wide variety of topics, such as a national policy on water reuse and opportunities for new partnerships. If you are interested in joining the workgroup, or would like to present on water reuse issues facing your utility, please contact NACWA’s Government Affairs Manager, Oliver Hamilton, for more information.
