Area wastewater plants receive national performance awards
The Buffalo Creek and Squabble Creek wastewater treatment plants in Rockwall were recognized this week for meeting 100% compliance for the full calendar year.
The plants are among 11 North Texas Municipal Water District (NTMWD) plants to receive National Association of Clean Water Agencies (NACWA) Peak Performance Awards in recognition of excellence in permit compliance.
“These awards are a result of the dedication to service by our operators, maintenance and engineering crews,” said David Brewster, NTMWD’s assistant deputy for wastewater. “Our staff live and work in the communities we serve, and ensuring proper treatment of wastewater flows before release back into our streams and waterways is our top priority. Congratulations to our entire team for this prestigious honor.”
