The Alamo

Stop by and visit this historic landmark that was built in 1744. This landmark was the first mission in San Antonio, serving as a way station between east Texas and Mexico, and eventually leading to the end of the Texas Revolution. 

The Battle for Texas Experience

Brackenridge Park

Seek refuge from the heat and other San Antonio attractions in the 343-acre Brackenridge Park. Spread along the northern bends of the San Antonio River, this park is a great place to relax with friends and family. 

Friedrich Wilderness Park

In an urbanized area like San Antonio and Bexar County, this is the place to go to enjoy the sights, sounds, and smells of nature.  This 240-acre natural preserve is great for bird-watching with a range of hiking trails for beginners and experts alike! 

Institute of Texan Cultures

The Institute of Texan Cultures, through its research, collections, exhibits and programs, serves as the forum for the understanding and appreciation of Texas and Texans. The 182,000-square-foot complex has 65,000-square-foot of interactive exhibits and displays. The library on the third floor contains manuscripts, rare books, personal papers, over 3 million historical photos and over 700 oral histories. 

Japanese Tea Gardens

Come enjoy beautifully restored garden that features a lush year-round garden and a floral display with shaded walkways, stone bridges, a 60-foot waterfall and ponds filled with Koi. 

La Villita Historic Arts Village

Enjoy this historic attraction located on the south bank of the San Antonio River.  This plaza includes art galleries and collectives along some great dining options. 

McNay Art Museum

Take full advantage of the extraordinary opportunities provided at the first museum of modern art in Texas.

Natural Bridge Caverns

Join an adventure tour and go caving, or pan for precious stones at the Natural Bridge Caverns.  Located 180 feet below ground, be sure to take in the views of all of the stalagmites, soda straws and other rock formations!

San Antonio Botanical Gardens

Come by and enjoy Shakespeare in the Park, Gardens by Moonlight, Concerts Under the Stars, Viva Botanica!  Spread of 33-acres, these gardens are filled with beautiful flora. 

San Antonio Missions National Historical Park

Built between the 17^th and 19^th centuries, the San Jose, San Juan, Espada and Concepcion Missions all have been preserved in this National Historic Park. 

San Antonio Museum of Art

The San Antonio Museum of Art is a cultural gem that's not to be missed. Visit the top-notch collections of American, Asian, European, Islamic and Latin American art.

River Walk

Founded in 1968, the San Antonio River Walk is the number one tourist attraction in Texas.  Take a stroll or hop on a boat as you follow the riverbanks and enjoy the scenery.

San Antonio Zoo and Aquarium

The San Antonio Zoo and Aquarium is home to 3500 animals, with over 750 different species.  Whether you prefer wandering through a butterfly garden, or checking out the two-headed turtle exhibit, this is one place you don’t want to miss.

San Fernando Cathedral

The San Fernando Cathedral is the oldest, continuously functioning religious community in the Texas.  Founded in 1731, the Cathedral building has the added distinction of being the oldest standing church building in Texas.

Tower of the Americas

Enjoy the gorgeous panorama from the Tower’s revolving Chart House Restaurant.  Built for the 1968 World’s Fair, take in the scenery from the Observation Deck. 

Witte Museum

Take time out for some educational amusement at the Witte Museum. This museum covers its basis from natural science, anthropology to Texas’ history with exhibits featuring everything from dinosaurs to mummies to tarantulas.
